Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered below then please do contact us using our online contact form and we will reply as soon as possible.

Who do we sell to

We sell to the public in our local area - Somerset - and at markets and food festivals throughout the region.

Our website is only intended for use by people and businesses residing in England, Scotland and Wales. We do not accept orders from individuals outside of these countries.  If in doubt please give us a ring.

Are all your pies frozen?

Yes, unless you visit or kitchen or one of our markets or food festival stalls. Dickie’s Pies are made fresh daily in small batches in uncooked pastry. These are then quick-frozen to preserve the quality, flavour and nutrients. When baked, you will experience a wonderful just-baked aroma.  Full cooking instructions are included in every order.

Do you make Gluten Free Pies?

Currently, Dickie’s Pies do not make GF Pies, but watch this space and check back regularly.

What size are your pies?

Dickie’s Pies are 270g (cooked weight) which are a generous size for one person. Many customers choose to share a pie and serve it up with fresh vegetables.

Is the meat in your pies halal?

Dickie’s Pies are not halal. Our beef is British grass-fed and our chicken is British and free-range.

Where do I find the allergen information for your pies?

All allergen and ingredients information is provided on a menu card sent out with each delivery. Also see our allergen page.

How long will my pies keep?

Your pies will arrive frozen and will need to be put straight into your freezer.  Your frozen pies can be stored in a freezer for up to 4 months. They have been quick-frozen to ensure flavour and texture is maintained.

How should my pies be cooked?

We recommend that you cook Dickie’s Pies thoroughly from frozen.  From frozen: preheat oven to Gas Mark 7 (425°F) or 220°C (200°C Fan), do not remove pie from outer foil, and place pie on a preheated baking tray in the middle of your oven for 50-55 mins.

Can I microwave my pies?

Honestly! NO. Dickie’s pies have been created to be eaten as intended, in the traditional baked pie way. It would be absolute sacrilege to ruin a premium quality product in this way. So, the answer is quite simply NEVER.

How should I store my pies?

Dickie's Pies are sold FROZEN. They will need to be placed in a FREEZER (-18°C) as soon as possible. They can be frozen for up to 4 months, but we very much doubt they will be in there that long! Dickie’s Pies freeze beautifully and are delicious when cooked from frozen.
